Pamela Martin-Turner

Pamela Martin Turner, President and Chief Executive Officer of Vanguard Community Development Corporation (CDC) is a 30-year veteran in housing and economic development. Pamela directs all Vanguard operations, including its’ expansive community engagement and leadership program; and its’ real estate development work, which currently totals near $53 million in commercial/residential projects.
Pamela blazed the trail during Detroit’s early years in CED; with a total public investment of $20 million in Detroit’s neighborhoods, resulting in the development of 200 newly constructed homes. An astute coalition builder, Pamela successfully leverages government seed money to secure substantial private investment in all of these developments. As Vanguard’s leader, Pamela guides the project’s vision, always advocating for residents; and serves as liaison with local government /institutions. She is a licensed attorney and has earned degrees from Harvard University, George Washington University and the University of Michigan.
Pamela is a 43-year member of Delta Sigma Theta, affiliated with the Detroit Alumnae Chapter. She is an avid reader, enjoys antiquing, cooking, and traveling. However, her most proud accomplishment is raising to adulthood, three happy, productive adults.
Everett Stone

Everett L. Stone, Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer at Vanguard, believes that affordable housing is an absolute necessity in building a strong and vibrant community. He has spent the last 30 plus years in and around the development of affordable housing. He is dedicated to making affordable housing available to those that are in need. Everett manages the day to day finances of Vanguard, interfaces with Vanguard’s various funders, serves as asset manager of Vanguard’s low-income housing developments, and project manager of our new construction multifamily project. Everett has been a Certified Public Accountant since 1981 and is licensed in the State of Michigan. He completed the Rental Housing Development Finance Training Program and is certified as a Rental Housing Development Finance Professional.
Everett has been married over 30 years to Pamela Stone and has three children, Kyle, Grant and Sara. Besides spending quality family time, he enjoys travelling, reading, golfing, and spending time at Lifetime Fitness. He is a life member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. where he currently serves as treasurer of The Kappa Detroit Foundation. He is a member of The Michigan Association of Certified Public Accountants and Urban Land Institute. He is also a member of Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church.
Lisa Tucker

Lisa Tucker has nineteen years’ experience driving strategic growth and executing project management in not-for-profit organizations and private companies. She has a strong ability in leading partners to efficiently and effectively achieve organizational objectives. She has been a licensed broker in Michigan for over 15 years working as a property manager, real estate developer, project management and providing business development services to independent entrepreneurs. This experience has groomed her for her current position as Vice President of Economic Development, and Business District Manager for the North End/Milwaukee Junction business community.
Lisa enjoys music, walking, water activities and alchemy.
Monica Edmonds

Monica Edmonds, Vice President of Community Engagement and Planning with Vanguard CDC is an urban planner with over twenty years’ experience in community development in both government and non-profit sectors. She most recently served as the Deputy Executive Director for the Housing Authority of Elgin, Illinois. Since 2012, she was responsible for assisting in planning, directing and coordinating the various programmatic and development activities of the Housing Authority of Elgin. Monica joined Vanguard’s team in February 2019 in the areas of community engagement; housing development; and fund/resources development.
Monica is a proud Spartan, Chippewa and Knight Fellow in Community Building. She enjoys enjoys traveling, interior decorating, and spending time with her husband Kevin and granddaughter, Aria. She is an active member of Antioch Church of Lansing, MI.
